Cancellation policy for classes

These rules apply to every class and workshop booked with [Business name]. They help us keep places fair for everyone, so please read them before you book.

Booking your place

Places in each class are limited. Book through [our booking page] to secure yours; your place is confirmed when your booking is complete.

Cancelling your place

If you can't make it, cancel at least [12] hours before the class starts. If you booked with a pass, the session goes back on it; otherwise you get [a full refund / a credit for another class].

Late cancellations

If you cancel less than [12] hours before the class, the place counts as used: [the session comes off your pass / the class fee isn't refunded].

No-shows

If you miss a class without cancelling, the place counts as used, because someone else could have taken it.

Arriving late

Classes start on time. For your safety, you can't join more than [10] minutes after the start; the place then counts as used.

If we cancel a class

If we have to cancel, for example because fewer than [4] people have booked or the teacher is ill, we'll let you know as soon as we can. Your session goes back on your pass, or you get a full refund if you paid for the class.

Reminders

You'll receive an email reminder before each class you've booked, so you have time to cancel if your plans change.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the brackets

Choose your notice period, fees and contact details. Use the same numbers everywhere you mention them.

  2. Put it where clients book

Add it to your website and booking page, so clients see it before they pay.

  3. Apply it the same way

A policy works when it's used consistently. If you make an exception, say so, so it stays an exception.

Questions

What should a cancellation policy include?

How much notice clients need to give, what happens with late cancellations and no-shows, what you do if you have to cancel, and how clients can reach you.

How much notice should I ask for?

There's no single right answer. Choose a notice period that gives you time to offer the place to someone else, for example 24 hours for appointments or 12 hours for classes.
