How the calculation works

Room hire is a fixed cost: it's the same with three people or fourteen. Knowing your break-even point tells you which classes, times and rooms are worth it.

How it works

  1. Room hire + other costs = what one class costs you.
  2. Cost of the class ÷ the price per place, rounded up = the participants you need.
  3. Places × price, minus costs = what's left when the room is full, or half full.

Make the numbers work

  • Know the number before you sign

Check the break-even before you commit to a room or a time slot, and choose a size you can fill.

  • Sell places in advance

When places are booked and paid in advance, you see the numbers before you pay for the room. In Bespire, each class has its places and clients pay when they book.

  • Count pass holders at their real price

If regulars use a pass, enter the price per session on the pass. The pass price calculator works it out.

Questions

What should I put under other costs?

Anything you pay for each class: travel, equipment hire, materials, or a share of your insurance.

What if clients use passes?

Use the price per session on the pass rather than the drop-in price. The pass price calculator works it out for you.
